Makeup wipes and liquid removers can be the perfect solution to remove face and eye makeup easily but they may irritate your skin and eyes over long period of time. Most of the wipes contain alcohol, which can be harsh especially if you have very dry and sensitive skin.

Here is a list of some natural ways to remove the makeup and refresh your skin without using harmful chemicals:

  1. Natural Oil

Oils are the greatest natural makeup remover and can be found easily in your kitchen. Since most of the makeup products are oil-soluble, it makes sense to use oil to remove all kinds of makeups, including foundation, dark pigmented lipstick, blush, mascara and eye shadows. Oil on the skin keeps it looking young, supple, and lively. If you apply natural oils such as olive oil or coconut oil to remove your makeup, you will be able to cleanse your skin without over-drying it. Add a few drops of olive/coconut oil on cotton swab and gently rub it on your face and you will see how the makeup residues mixes up with oil removing dirt and sweat from your face. Baby oil can also be used to remove any kind of makeup.

  1. Steam

If you fill up a sink with steaming hot water and lean over it, it unclogs all of your pores and makes easier to remove your makeup with just regular face soap and water.

The fat and proteins in milk can help to hydrate and allow your skin to retain moisture. Dip a cotton ball into a bowl of whole milk and rub it all over your face. Then rinse it off thoroughly with warm water. It will make your face makeup-free and refreshed.

  1. Cucumber

There are number of beauty products that have cucumber in them to help remove makeup. Cucumbers have anti-inflammatory properties which help soothing irritated or acne-prone skin. Take a cucumber, blend it into a paste and apply to your skin for 15 minutes. It works as a cleansing mask for your face. You can add little milk or olive oil to this mixture to remove the hard makeup.

  1. Yogurt

Yogurt keeps the skin well moisturized and is also great for relieving sunburns. Take a clean cotton ball and dip it into plain yogurt, rub it all over your face in a circular motion, and then rinse off with warm water.
