Using the right hair brush can make a huge difference in the health of your hair and how effectively you can style it. With different types of hair brushes available on the market, it can be confusing to choose the perfect one for your hair.  We’ve put together a handy guide on using different kinds of hair brushes.

Paddle Brush:

Also known by a cushion brush and everyday brush, it comes in rectangular or oval in shape and has the bristles set on the cushion which allows the airflow and so you get the feel of a massage while brushing your hair. It is used for detangling and smoothing hair and it also makes an awesome blow out to your hair.

Radial/ Round Brush:

A radial hair brush has bristles around the entire head of the brush. This brush is typically used to blowout your hair with volume and to create curls. It comes in different sizes. The smaller the brush, the tighter the curl.

Half Radial Brush:

This brush is almost the same as a radial brush except it’s smaller and is half round having little curves on the cushion. It doesn’t create much volume and smooth out hair like the full head paddle brush does, but it’s good to create a flick out in hair. The best thing about this brush is that it’s perfect for someone with thick hair looking for a nice wave without too much volume.

Vented Brush:

Vented brushes come with holes or slits through the back of it and is used to reduce blow-drying time by letting air to flow through the brush and to create volume in hair.

Wet Brush:

Wet brushes glide smoothly and easily through wet or dry hair for healthy detangling by avoiding all tugging, tearing, pulling and ripping.

At last, since hair brushes come in different sizes, it’s confusing to buy the right size for your hair. Keep in mind: the shorter your hair, the smaller the brush you need.
